1. Granny Hazel's
A local female-owned, small business, Granny Hazel's has been a Westport favorite since 1962. It's your go-to sweet shop in town, with fresh, house-made fudge and endless bins of bulk candy, including vintage-inspired varieties. There's even a boat replica inside the shop filled with saltwater taffy (our personal favorite).

2. Mermaid Museum
Located halfway between Aberdeen and Westport, the new Mermaid Museum, adjacent to the Westport Winery, opened in 2021. It's dedicated to sharing ocean ecology from seafloor to seashore, immersed in mermaid mythology, unifying oceanic cultures. Ocean ecology wrapped in the mythology of mermaids is a vivid and inviting learning opportunity for all ages and abilities. Definitely make sure to check out the gift shop and explore the property - it's quite unique!

3. Westhaven State Park
One of the most popular destinations on the west coast for surfing and beachcombing is Westhaven State Park. I recommend renting surfboards, wetsuits, or boogie boards at LOGE the morning of (even the night before). Be sure to show up early as the parking lot fills up quickly. Also, pack a picnic, plenty of water, and sunscreen, as the only facilities available are public restrooms.

4. Westport Marina
The Marina put Westport on the map, being one of the nation's largest fishing, shellfish harvesting, and seafood processing hubs. You can book a fishing charter - just be ready for a big adventure (and pack Dramamine!). We love to explore the boardwalk and, when possible, feed baby coho salmon! The Marina has a cool program that allows you to do this, established in 1975 by Del Dungey Sr, coach, and oceanography teacher at Ocosta High School. The program has raised between 100,000 and 200,000 coho salmon in net pens, and after being released, the fish head out to the ocean. 2-3 years later, they return, and you can fish for them right off the dock in September and October.

5. Surfer Girl
While you're on the boardwalk, make sure to cross the street for a scoop of ice cream from Surfer Girl. They have a fun walk-up window to order your favorite flavors.

6. The Maritime Museum
The best place to not only learn about Westport but also the history of the Washington coast is the Maritime Museum. Connected to the Museum is a Marine Mammal exhibit where you will find things found in the ocean, knots tied in history, a skeleton of a whale, as well as crabs, fish, and other ocean creatures.

7. The Viewing Tower
Located at the end of the boardwalk, you'll find Westport Marina's extraordinary Observation Tower with magnificent views of the ocean. Make sure to climb to the top for a great photo opp!

8. Grays Harbor Lighthouse
At 107 feet tall, the Grays Harbor Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Washington State. There are 135 steps leading up to the lightroom, where you will find outstanding views. The lens was built in Paris, France in 1895. This is a definite must on your next visit to Westport!

9. Little Richard's Donuts
If you manage to visit when Little Richard's Donuts is open, then you've hit the jackpot. Their donuts are made fresh daily, with flavors like raspberry fritter, chocolate cake, and lemon - and are INSANELY good. My advice is to get there as early as possible - they will sell out!

10. Aloha Alabama
A fun twist on coastal barbeque, Aloha Alabama is not only a restaurant but an experience! From fried oysters to pork tacos, it's delicious and great for all ages. It's my absolute favorite in town!
